This policy covers the ScrollCompass app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website, scrollcompass.com.
The short version
ScrollCompass collects nothing. No name, no email address, no location, no contacts, no advertising identifier, no analytics and no crash reporting. There is no third-party SDK that could collect anything on its behalf.
There is no account and no cloud copy. Progress lives on this device only.
What the app keeps on your device
The app keeps one small file in its own storage on your device. It holds your settings (language, sound, captions and motion), whether you have finished the welcome screens and, for each journey, the last scene you completed, whether you finished it, and when you last opened and finished it.
The file contains no name, no account and no identifier of any kind. ScrollCompass never sends it anywhere: the app has no network code and makes no network requests.
What the app does not do
- It has no account and no sign-in.
- It does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos or voice.
- It contains no analytics, advertising, advertising identifier, crash reporting or third-party SDK.
- It asks for no permissions: no notifications, no location, no contacts and no tracking.
- It has no in-app web browser and opens no web pages.
Device backups
If you back up your device with iCloud, a computer or your Google account, your operating system may include that one small file in your own backup, under your own settings. That copy belongs to you. ScrollCompass cannot read it and receives nothing from it.
Deleting your data
You can clear your data in the app at any time, with no request and no waiting:
- Reset one journey: Clears your progress through a single journey.
- Reset all local data: Clears progress and preferences for every journey on this device.
- Uninstalling ScrollCompass removes everything it stored.
Children
ScrollCompass collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
This website
scrollcompass.com is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising and loads nothing from other sites: every file comes from scrollcompass.com.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare's privacy policy covers that processing.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
